Groundbreakers: Call for submissions

The Curbed Groundbreakers award, now in its second year, recognizes architects, both seasoned and new, who are changing the way the built world functions. From the 20-year veteran radicalizing affordable housing to the new graduate building off-the-grid tiny houses for the homeless, we're on the hunt for architects challenging the status quo?and we need your help. The nomination process is simple: Fill out the form below, and tell us why this architect, partnership, or firm is a Groundbreaker. Did they design a health center in Haiti" Did she build cutting-edge sustainable home" Did he create a solar-powered modular apartment building" Please include a portfolio (or link to projects) that showcases the architect's most innovative work. There is no age limit for nominees, but they must be based in the United States. Once we amass our nominees, a jury of esteemed industry professionals will select the winners, and we'll celebrate them here on Curbed in mid-November.
Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 7, and you can absolutely submit more than one name. Fill out the nomination form now, and be sure to check out our 2015 winners.
