This midcentury modern in the Macalester-Groveland neighborhood of Saint Paul, Minnesota, was built in 1957 and has been exquisitely preserved over the years?with just a few updates in parts. Designed by Milton Bergstedt and Jim Hirsch in 1957, the sprawling home unfurls across 3,353 square feet, showcasing the era?s best design principles.
The residence features four bedrooms and three baths across two spacious floors characterized by soaring, open-plan spaces with high ceilings, wood paneling, walls of glass, built-in storage, and many other delightful details. In the great room, a large brick hearth establishes the space, which looks out onto the lush grounds and vast lawn by way of full-height windows. A dining area and what appears to be a period kitchen follow, as does a fully glazed porch.
