Geometric Ceramics by Ian McDonald
These geometric ceramics by Ian McDonald are incredibly precise. My first thought was that they were parts from an engine or some sort of mechanical object. I like organic shapes but I am mostly drawn to geometric shapes. I like the juxtaposition in glaze versus shape. There are speckles, depths of color, and imperfects in the glaze but the shapes are precise. Ian has an impressive bio and is currently living and working in Eugene Oregon. I am certainly a fan and I may have to keep an eye on his store for new creations.
