Gambrel Roof Truss System Information

Gambrel roof, or, in other words, the pyramidal truss system – is a popular and well established solution for the roof, which allows you to build a large area of the roof attic. The design feature is an additional ramp, which replaces the gable. This ramp has a triangular shape and is called a hip. A special case of such a ramp is the one when the slope does not reach the border Laying nets.
The load distribution sets on all four walls. Gable roof is supported only by two. Lack gable gives wind load reduction (sail) on the truss system. It is vitally important property in windy areas and houses standing in the suburbs. The plot of the roof instead of the pediment does not provide a significant load on the foundation. In this case it is faster and cheaper construction.
