Eliot Noyes Mid Century in New Canaan
This Eliot Noyes mid century home in New Canaan Connecticut is currently on the market. This architectural type is the one I am most drawn to. I have seen others refer to it as International style. Long and low stretching geometric structures with large walls of glass with a simplistic layout typically built in the 40’s and 50’s. Some would think these structures were boring but I am drawn to them. This particular house was built in 1956 and has a guest house that is equally impressive. It looks as though the current owners may have an artist amongst them, the walls are filled with some very nice work. The furnishings here are not my taste but I could imagine the place with mid century modern furniture and lighting. If it were my house I am afraid the guest house would turn into a furniture orders storage unit.
