Native Land this week received planning approval for new proposals for its Eastern Yards site, part of the £1 billion Bankside Yards mixed-use development, in Bankside, London SE1.
The entire Bankside Yards project received planning consent in 2014 for homes, offices, restaurants, cultural uses and open space in a 5.5-acre riverside estate in central London, set around 14 historic railway arches.
Native Land and its consortium partners Temasek, HPL and Amcorp Properties recently made a planning application with new proposals for the second phase of the Bankside Yards development, known as Eastern Yards, on the former site of Sampson House. The planning application was approved by Southwark Council on Monday 24th February 2020.
The approved application will bring 341 new homes, representing an increase of 109 homes on the original planning consent, and will include onsite affordable housing in addition to a financial contribution towards new homes in the borough. The new consent also includes an international standard 5-star hotel, together with office space for SMEs, additional retail and 30% more open space.
Eastern Yards is comprised of 550,000 sq.ft of the 1.4m sq.ft Bankside Yards site, and five buildings. Masterplanners ...
