Dieter Rams by Bibliothèque
Dieter Rams is a name we all associate with minimal design. I recently came across a retrospective exhibition dedicated to Dieter Rams designed by Bibliothèque. I would guess that if you were a design fan you have seen some of these images before. This exhibit is not new but revisiting it reminded me of what a great design mind Rams was. The skill of editing a design using only necessary elements and then taking those elements and editing their presence is an art. This exhibit was so well done, the layout and signage reflected the work ethos of Rams, LESS IS MORE. I have never owned any of his pieces, maybe someday I will come across a piece to ad to my collection.
“A retrospective exhibition dedicated to Dieter Rams, one of the 20th century’s most influential industrial designers. As head of design at Braun, the German consumer electronics manufacturer, Rams defined an elegant and rigorous visual language for its products.”
