Designer Emily Henderson turns nursery into stylish guest room
A simple way to style your home for sale When you?re getting ready to sell a house, making the interior spaces as broadly appealing as possible can make all the difference in attracting buyers. One prime example of this is turning a nursery into a guest room, a simple change that designer Emily Henderson has deployed delightfully in her former Los Angeles home, which recently sold for above asking.
Originally completed last year, Henderson?s blush and green nursery for her baby girl was an airy, cozy retreat featuring a statement forest wallpaper on two sides, one with a gorgeous vintage wicker day bed and another with an all-white crib. To turn the space into a guest bedroom, Henderson kept the bold wallpaper as a backdrop for more neutral furnishings. For example, the new guest bed was covered in fresh, light linens and sports an understated walnut headboard, flanked by petite white nightstands.
?Baby? elements like a changing table, pink pouf, and wall-mounted unicorn head are now replaced with more practical touches like an extra chair, desk lamp, and storage side table.
