Deep Foundation General Use

This is a kind of foundation that transfers building loads farther down from the surface of the earth to a subsurface layer or a range of depths. These foundations are very deep below the ground surface base and can not be affected by surface conditions. The depths goes more than 3 m below finished ground level. Those deep foundations are used to transfer the loading to a deeper, more competent strata at depth when the soil on the first layers near the surface are unsuitable.
Deep foundations are used regularly for: Basements, Buoyancy rafts (hollow box foundations), Caissons, Cylinders, Shaft foundations, Piles. More about those situations in the link bellow.
