Dans Le Sac: Simple Cotton Bread Bags from Quebec
The reusable market bag has become a staple for any trip to the farm stand (see our post on The French-Style Market Tote, Reinvented). But what about a reusable bag for the (very French) tradition of the daily trip to the bakery"
That’s where Stéphanie Mandréa and Laurie Barrette, the twentysomething founders of the Quebec-based company Dans Le Sac, saw an opportunity. “Stéphanie was in the habit of taking a pillowcase to the corner bakery to pick up bread,” they say. “When she got back home, she realized that the pillowcase wasn’t the most ideal aesthetic choice.” Enter the women’s simple cotton bags, as lovely as they are ecofriendly and practical. Here’s a look at their designs.
