This gorgeous California coastal remodel in Manhattan Beach was the result of a partnership between Builder Boy and Jennifer Allison Design. The goal of this project was to use the homeowners’ unique vision for a relaxing beach getaway for the whole family with the designers’ inspiration for a clean, contemporary space. The complete exterior face lift consisted of paint, new windows, a custom concrete driveway, porch and a paver patio while on the inside, new paint and wall treatments complemented the lovely turquoise theme expressed in almost every room. One of the most interesting aspects of this project is the subtle details hidden throughout the home, such as the multicolored fireplace tile and aqua sunroom flooring which carry the ocean theme through each area. Unique colors and textures were used to replicate driftwood and sea glass. And of course, no coast would be complete without the beach: the warm wood tones of the bar and spare bedroom complement this theme by adding a sandy element to the home. Upstairs, children’s bedrooms deviate a bit by catering to the individual tastes of each child while still feeling in sync with the rest of the house’s playful elements.
