Can Bamboo really Replace the Steel Reinforcement"



The materials of organic origin were used in the construction of buildingss ever since the ancient time. So, it is proven that are an excellent choice. Bamboo found its use in the construction of skeleton structures for a long time before but later it was replaced by steel. Still is used in some rural areas in India and Africa for building mud huts. According to its power when is dried, bamboo is used as a reinforcement structure at smaller facilities even today. This innovative green material can replace environmentally hostile steel. Its advantages are numerous. The costs for its production are small, have low weight, its easy to transport and cutting, does not corrode and is renewable naturally without the need for re-planting.  Bamboo has the ability to absorb large amounts of carbon dioxide because of rapid growth, which means it purifies the air. A hollow tubular structure of the bamboo is adapted to survive strong winds and natural miseries. Natural bamboo fibers when are added glue they form a waterproof and extremely durable composite material that is a great replacement for steel in concrete structures. Bamboo belongs to the family of grasses, quite resistant and present in nature. Superior compared with the wood, and even steel. Still builders and engineers are exploring what is the best alternative for utilizing it in concreting.
