Building a Simple “Standard” Raw Water Tipper
The rainwater separator is the second component of a rainwater harvesting system. Before you use the water it is necessary to use a rainwater filter, and than a cistern or a tank. The function of this component is to separate and discard the first waters of heavy rains or waters of weak rains. So in the tank will only go the waters of strong rains that will be much cleaner, because the first waters of heavy rains are polluted with washing the roof, gutters and pipes. In the images and in the model presented bellow, the rainwater comes from the filter and descends through the central connection of the TÊ to a tube whose function will be to from a temporary reservoir. In this tube at the bottom should be placed a ball of ping-pong and in the inner superior must have a narrowing to prevent the passage of this ball. More instructions – in the link bellow.
