Brick wall looks wonderful but if there are cracks it is very ugly. Cracking can occur because of number of reasons such as: foundation failure can happen because of the ground movements (like earthquakes), disproportionate settlement can happen because of rapid change in load, mobile ground water also can lead to undermining of the foundations, thermal movement, lateral instability can bring wall rotation and than cracks, excessive lateral loads on walls, accidents…
During the construction several of cracks reasons can be made more soft by knowing the site area and using materials that will resist an earthquake for instance, but most of them just can occur no matter what we do.
