Tinbeerwah House is a rectangular glass pavilion covered in sliding hardwood screens that control both the amount of daylight that enters the home as well as sea breezes and views.

Because the 2,800-square-foot home is built on a slope, its entrance is accessed by way of a white-painted stair with deep blue walls. The clients wanted a strong sense of connection to the landscape and the ability to step directly from any room into the garden. So the architects arranged the space so that several rooms?including the children's? rooms?open right onto the hillside.
The interior is arranged with an open-plan kitchen, dining area, and living room on one side of the home and four bedrooms including the master suite on the other. The kitchen is a chic matte black?the fourth such kitchen we?ve recently covered.
The house also generates its own solar power and collects rain water. Additionally, gray water (collected from bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry) is recycled and used for outdoor irrigation.
