Beam and Slab System Design Notes

The construction of a building needs a system that will help it stay strong and fixed. Beams are structural members that transfer the loads from slab to the column. Actually they are connectors to save the column of sliding outwards (plinth beam). A slab is an expanded version of the beam that serves the purpose of bearing live loads and the purpose of horizontal movement of live loads (staircases for vertical live loads). The types of connection of L and T – beams and more about this system in the images bellow.
