basiches arquitetos integrates outdoor spaces into MF house in são paulo
located on the north coast of são paulo, ?MF house? has been renovated by the brazilian architecture practice, basiches arquitetos associados. the basic structure and floor plan of the building has been largely retained, however, the client desired the beach residence be reconsidered to create more integration between indoor and outdoor spaces. without any drastic interventions, the project combines old and new, by developing a revised program centred around the existing construction.

the design by basiches arquitetos associados applies the most radical change to the front part of the house. an original tiled roof, which previously covered the garage, has been demolished and a new wall has been built in its place. this intervention acts to form a division between the new garage area and the internal access courtyard. car parking space can now be found under a metal pergola, clad in timber and covered in greenery, and located closer to the street.
