Bamboo & Paper Creatures Sculptures by Ai WeiWei in Paris
For the Parisian department store Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, Ai WeiWei comes with an installation as amazing as his previous ones : suspended creatures’ sculptures, made from bamboo (for its flexibility) and paper (for its weightlessness). The artist transformed this commercial gallery into a historical center with aerial and shops artworks called Er Xi (Child’s Play). These mythological creatures come from popular legends of the Antique China, including the epic tales of Shan Hai Jing we tell to children since at least 2000 years.
