This award-winning 1970s post-and-beam was designed by Neil LaMonte Astle, a native Utahn and Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. Located on a sloping site surrounded by oak trees in Omaha, Nebraska, the split-level home appears to open itself to the outdoors by way of extensive skylit passageways, clerestory windows, walls of glass, and glazed courtyards.

Measuring 3,890 square feet, the residence unfurls on three dynamic levels that step downward toward the rear of the site, with two bedrooms and a den placed toward the front of the house, the kitchen and dining area in the center, and the living room and master bedroom suite opening out toward the verdant yard on the lower level.
This arrangement is punctuated by the aforementioned corridors and hefty beams running inside and out that further enhance the indoor-outdoor program of the house.
