A Nostalgic Bath Collection from a Copenhagen Design Firm
Recently spotted: a luxuriously shapely bath collection from Copenhagen-based designers Norm Architects. If it feels a little nostalgic, that’s intentional: Norm’s calling card is taking a familiar shape (a hat mold, a vintage planter, a wooden milking stool) and paring it down to its simplest form to create something “striking, functional, and aesthetically durable.” The inspiration behind the new collection" Antique roll-top baths. Here’s a look.
Above: Created for Spanish company Inbani, the Prime collection includes three sinks and two bathtubs. One oblong sink (shown) can be wall-mounted.
Above: The collection is made of a matte composite material. The voluptuous, full shapes evoke “how the pressure of water shapes an elastic material, like a filled water balloon.” This round washbasin can be top-mounted or under-mounted.
Above: Like the washbasins, the Prime baths have a “soft outer shape.” The first bath silhouette is of uniform height on all sides.
Above: The other bath style has one slightly higher end for prime relaxation.
Above: The rolled composite top evokes traditional metal baths.
Above: Inbani says that the baths are “inviting and familiar and modern at the same time.”
