A Midcentury Lighting Company in Canada, by Way of Denmark
Lotte and Gunnar Bostlund left Denmark for Canada in 1952 after their ceramic business was destroyed by a fire. After dabbling in other endeavors, the couple returned to their roots and founded Lotte Lamps. The lamps are still produced using the Bostlund’s master molds and are available in several different shapes and sizes and in 14 different glazes (ranging from eggplant to bone). Prices start at $125 for a 20-inch-tall model and go up to $475 for a 37-inch model; shades are included and are available in white fiberglass and natural linen.
