4 Art Deco decor ideas to steal from a chic Parisian hotel

Don?t be afraid to go bold Hotel Bachaumont, located in the Montorgueil neighborhood of Paris, has recently reopened its doors after 40 years. Restored by Samy Marciano in collaboration with interior designer du jour Dorothée Meilichzon, the Grand Hôtel de Bachaumont, as it was formerly called and which first came to life during the Roaring Twenties, has now been marvelously transformed, combining Art Deco elements with contemporary design.
For those looking for inspiration, Hotel Bachaumont also offers up plenty of chic and somewhat daring ideas for taking your space to the next level. Even if going totally Art Deco is not your thing, there are ways to incorporate bold colors, geometric motifs, and luxuriant materials without overdoing it. Upholstery is your friend
If you?re weary of committing to graphic prints, start small by adding upholstered objects like chairs and sofas to your room. Fabric-covered headboards and wall paneling also allow you to experiment with patterns and textures that may otherwise overwhelm on a larger scale.
In the restaurant, Meilichzon, who custom-designed nearly all the furniture in the hotel, used marble, paisley, and Beni Ourain-inspired prints on the chairs and booths, which give the space a playful flair. In the rooms, textured poufs and headboards add a touch of softness.
