And that?s just what Denver-based Colorado Caravan does. Husband and wife Patrick Neely and Kerri Cole rescue run-down Airstreams and breathe new life into them. We?ve covered their renovation of a 21-foot 1969 Globetrotter in the past, and today we?re loving their latest project: Margot.
Created for an international client who wanted a home-on-the-go when she and her son came back to the U.S. during the summer, Margot is a 1966 Airstream Safari. At just 22 feet, Margot needed a top-to-bottom gut and Colorado Caravan wanted to make the camper feel bright and airy despite its small footprint. The renovated camper sleeps three comfortably in a full bed just to the right of the entrance and a twin bed in the back corner where part of the bathroom used to be. Both beds feature storage underneath and helpful reading lights for night-time wind downs.
The central part of the trailer boasts a kitchen with microwave, upper cabinets for storage, a stainless sink with pull-out faucet, and a double burner cooktop. Across from the cooking area, a custom table provides eating space for two and easily cl...
