15 Buildings that Show Innovative Architectural Design
By Stephen Knapp, Director of Sheet, Strip and Plate for CDA
It?s amazing to see the innovative ways copper continues to be applied to buildings across North America. Last week, the Copper Development Association (CDA) and the Canadian Copper & Brass Development Association (CCBDA) awarded the architects and contractors who worked on 15 stunning structures utilizing copper.
Among the projects selected this year for a North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) Award were four residential buildings, government buildings and a religious temple, just to name a few. The buildings were judged by a panel of architectural and copper industry experts and were evaluated based upon overall design, integration of copper, craft of copper installation and excellence in innovation or historic restoration.
