Right now, artist Doug Aitken?s ?Mirage??a low, mirror-clad house inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright?s residences?is in the spotlight, along with a host of other site-specific installations in a series dubbed Desert X. Mirage, aptly named in the Valley?s arid desert climate, reflects the craggy, windswept topography around it and the nearby San Jacinto Mountains.
